AI Practitioner – Level 1 Badge

The AI Practitioner — Level 1 badge recognizes demonstrated foundational skills in the practical and responsible use of generative AI.

Recipients have applied AI through hands-on activities involving prompt engineering, AI-assisted research and verification, workflow automation, and AI-powered solution development. Learners also gained experience using automation tools such as n8n and AI agents to create workflows, solve problems, and contribute to real-world projects.

This badge represents the first level of the New Collar AI credential pathway and demonstrates that the recipient can move beyond basic AI use to apply AI tools purposefully in practical situations.

Earning Criteria

Recipients must demonstrate Level 1 competency in each of the following areas:

AI Foundations
Demonstrate an understanding of generative AI, including its capabilities, limitations, responsible use, and appropriate applications.

Prompt Engineering
Create, test, and refine structured prompts that provide AI systems with clear objectives, context, instructions, and desired outputs.

AI Research & Verification
Use AI to assist with research while evaluating results, verifying information, identifying unreliable outputs, and using appropriate sources.

AI Workflow Automation
Create functional AI-powered workflows using tools such as n8n, including triggers, actions, data movement, and AI-generated outputs.

AI Solutions Development
Use AI tools, agents, and workflows to help solve a defined problem and contribute to the development of a practical or real-world solution.
